4. WHY WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We may process information where reasonably necessary to:

  • respond to your inquiry;
  • verify patient identity and match identification with medical records;
  • communicate with selected or relevant hospitals;
  • submit medical reports for hospital review;
  • coordinate doctor or specialist appointments;

  • improve our services and customer experience.

We do not intend to use patient medical information for unrelated advertising purposes.

5. MEDICAL REPORTS & IDENTITY DOCUMENTS

Special Care for Sensitive Information

Medical reports and Passport/NID documents require a higher level of care.

When a patient submits these documents, HealthBridge may use them to:

Verify the patient's identity
Match the patient's identity with medical records
Prepare an international hospital inquiry
Communicate with relevant healthcare providers
Support hospital registration or appointments
Assist with medical-travel documentation where requested

We aim to collect only the information reasonably necessary for these purposes.

Uploading a Passport/NID copy does not authorize HealthBridge to use the document for unrelated purposes.

6. SHARING INFORMATION WITH HOSPITALS

International Patient Coordination Requires Information Sharing

To provide medical facilitation services, HealthBridge may need to share relevant personal and medical information with an overseas hospital, doctor or healthcare provider selected by the patient or considered relevant to the patient's requested inquiry.

This may include hospitals in:

Thailand β€’ China β€’ Turkey β€’ Singapore

Only information reasonably necessary for the inquiry or service should be shared.

Once information is transferred to an independent hospital or healthcare provider, that organization may process the information under its own privacy policies, professional obligations and applicable laws.

HealthBridge does not control the independent clinical record-keeping practices of overseas hospitals.

7. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFER OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

Because HealthBridge facilitates overseas healthcare, patient information may need to be transferred outside Bangladesh.

For example, medical reports and identifying information may be sent to hospitals or healthcare providers in Thailand, China, Turkey or Singapore for the purpose of evaluating or coordinating a patient's inquiry.

Where applicable, HealthBridge will seek appropriate consent and take reasonable steps to ensure that international transfers are limited to legitimate purposes and handled with appropriate safeguards.

Bangladesh's current data-protection framework regulates cross-border personal-data transfers and gives heightened attention to categories including Passport and National ID information.

8. OTHER PARTIES WE MAY SHARE INFORMATION WITH

Where necessary for the services requested, limited information may also be shared with appropriate third parties such as:

Hospitals and healthcare providers
Visa or documentation service providers
Travel and transportation providers
Hotels or accommodation providers
Interpreter or patient-support services
Website hosting and IT service providers
Professional advisers where necessary
Government or regulatory authorities when legally required

We do not sell patients' medical information to advertisers.

Third parties should receive only the information reasonably required to perform the relevant service.

9. CONSENT

Where consent is the appropriate basis for processing, HealthBridge seeks consent in a clear and specific manner.

For example, the Medical Inquiry Form requires the patient or authorized representative to acknowledge that relevant information and documents may be processed and shared with appropriate hospitals and healthcare providers for handling the medical inquiry.

Bangladesh's Personal Data Protection Act, 2026 recognizes consent as a clear, specific and freely given indication and provides for withdrawal of consent, subject to applicable legal and operational limitations.

You may contact us if you wish to withdraw a previously provided consent.

Withdrawal does not necessarily affect processing that lawfully occurred before the withdrawal and may make it impossible for HealthBridge to continue a service that depends on the information.

10. CHILDREN & MINORS

If the patient is under 18 years of age, personal or medical information should be submitted by, or with appropriate consent from, a parent, legal guardian or another person legally authorized to act on the child's behalf.

Bangladesh's current data-protection framework provides specific protections for children's information and requires appropriate parental or guardian consent for processing such data.

HealthBridge may request information necessary to confirm authorization where appropriate.

11. HOW LONG WE KEEP INFORMATION

HealthBridge should retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and for applicable legal, regulatory, accounting, record-keeping, contractual or dispute-resolution requirements.

Retention periods may vary depending on:

  • the type of information;
  • whether a medical inquiry is active;
  • hospital coordination requirements;
  • legal obligations;
  • consent status; and
  • the need to establish or respond to legal claims.

When information is no longer required, it should be securely deleted, destroyed, anonymized or otherwise handled according to applicable requirements.

12. HOW WE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION

We take the confidentiality of patient information seriously and seek to maintain reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information processed.

These safeguards should include, where applicable:

Restricted staff access
Secure user authentication
Controlled document access
Encrypted transmission and/or storage where technically appropriate
Secure website hosting
Access logging and monitoring
Confidential handling procedures
Secure deletion and retention practices
Appropriate controls for third-party service providers

No internet-based system can provide absolute security. Accordingly, HealthBridge cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, cyber incidents or other security events will never occur.

Bangladesh's current law requires appropriate technical and organizational security measures for personal information.

Subject to applicable law and relevant exceptions, you may have rights concerning your personal information, including the ability to:

Request access
Ask what personal information HealthBridge holds about you.

Withdraw consent where processing relies upon your consent.

Ask about information sharing

15. MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS

We may send health information, hospital updates, events, seminar information or promotional communication where you have requested, subscribed to or otherwise appropriately consented to receive such communication.

You may ask us to stop marketing communications at any time.

Withdrawing marketing consent does not prevent HealthBridge from sending necessary communications relating to an active patient inquiry or service request.

16. THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES

The HealthBridge website may contain links to partner hospitals, social media platforms, travel providers or other external websites.

These websites operate independently and may have their own privacy policies.

17. DATA BREACHES & SECURITY INCIDENTS

If HealthBridge becomes aware of a personal-data security incident, we will assess the circumstances and take reasonable steps to contain, investigate and address the incident.

Where notification to an affected individual, regulator or other authority is required by applicable law, HealthBridge will follow the applicable requirements.

18. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, technologies, partner arrangements or applicable legal requirements change.

The most recent version will be published on this page with an updated β€œLast Updated” date.
